Ashok Sharma

Ashok Sharma is the Head of the Legal Department of MMTC Limited, a Government of India Enterprise, India’s first Golden Super Star Trading House and leading International Trading Company with a turnover of over Rs. 45,000 crores.

In his current capacity he is dealing with over 650 commercial / maritime / international arbitrations/ court cases involving over INR 550 crores.

Ashok has over 33 years of experience as an Advocate and as an In-house Counsel and is a Member of the Governing Body of the Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA), ICC Commission on Arbitration, General Committee of Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), Supreme Court Bar Association and International Bar Association, London (UK) among other bodies. He is also the Chairman of the Standing Legal Committee at SCOPE in New Delhi.

He received the National Law Day Award, 2008' for his `Outstanding Contribution to Practice of Law relating to Public Sector Undertakings' in December 2008.
