Vikram is an India-qualified lawyer, at the Bar since 1986. Completed LL.M from Government Law College, Mumbai in 1988. He is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London and Member of International Bar Association.
Vikram has appeared as a Counsel in LCIA, ICC, LMAA and KCIAB International Commercial Arbitrations and has also successfully represented the interest of several Indian and foreign clients in arbitrations under ICC, UNCTRAL, LCIA, LMAA GAFTA, SIAC, KCIAB, ICA and Ad-hoc arbitrations. Including India’s first and largest Business Interruption Insurance claim, Sub-Charterers liability in Contracts frustrated by Governmental action, contact involving take-or-pay obligations and other contractual disputes.
Vikram heads the Dispute Resolution and Litigation practice at Economic Laws Practice. While the litigation practice under Vikram’s stewardship is widely recognised as arguably the most efficient and competent team that has won several accolades including the recent International Tax Review. Vikram is acknowledged by Legal500, 2009-10 as a leading individual practitioner in Dispute Resolution and Indirect Taxes Litigation in India. He also regularly represents clients before the various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India and has, to his credit, several landmark judgments rendered by the Courts that have been reported by various authoritative journals and reporters.
