As Head (South-Asia Desk) and Assistant Counsel with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Ankit is actively involved with the promotion of SIAC in the South-Asia region and also assists in case administration and undertakes research on comparative laws of arbitration in Asia.
Ankit is a qualified lawyer from India, called to the Indian Bar in August 2004. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees in 2001 and 2004 respectively from Panjab University in India. After being called to the bar he worked for four years in the Dispute Resolution and Commercial Litigation teams of two law firms in New Delhi, India. As a Senior Associate in the disputes team of a major Indian law firm, he has had extensive exposure to a wide range of commercial, regulatory and arbitration matters and was actively involved in advising multi-national corporations in cross-border disputes.
Prior to joining SIAC, Ankit obtained his LL.M in International Business Law from the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore in 2009.
