Prathamesh D Popat is practicing at the Bombay High Court as a Counsel, Arbitrator and Mediator. He started his practice in the Chambers of Senior Counsel Aspi Chinoy on the Original Side of the Bombay High Court, where he is elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the Bombay Bar Association.
His practice is focused on ADR that is Alternate Dispute Resolution, which presently includes Arbitration, Negotiation, Mediation, Conciliation and Conflict Management as also Online Dispute Resolution.
In addition to representing parties before arbitral tribunals, he has been appointed as a sole arbitrator as also on an arbitral tribunal and as such, has conducted several arbitrations, both ad hoc as well as institutional.
He is Accredited as a Mediator by LEADR and IMI. He has undertaken training and gathered considerable experience from several other institutions like Pepperdine in California and Harvard Law School in Cambridge. As a Mediator, he is on several Panels, including that of the Bombay High Court and has conducted several Mediations, private as well as Court-Annexed. He is the counsel-coordinator of the ADR Course at the K.C.Law College and is a visiting faculty at several institutions for ADR training.
He is the Convener of the Indian Merchants' Chamber's Task Force for Online ADR and is also the Co-Chairman of IMC's Law Committee as well as its Mediation Committee.
