Nishant Joshi

Nishant joined Amarchand Mangaldas in July 2002 and since then he has worked on both Litigation and Corporate matters under the guidance of Shardul Shroff, Ciccu Mukhopadhaya and Pallavi Shroff .

He started his legal career in 1999 practicing independently in the Delhi Courts taking up civil and criminal law matters at both District and High Court Level. After this stint he worked at Rajinder Narain & Co, International Commercial lawyers for about two years where he handled both corporate and litigation matters for various international clients. His area of proficiency is a mix of Litigation and General Corporate. His other areas of keen interest include Asset leasing and financing with emphasis on the Aviation sector and White Collar crimes.

At Amarchand Mangaldas, Nishant works on a number of corporate matters relating to real estate investments and acquisitions, private equity investments, corporate arrangements and reconstructions, acquisitions etc.  On the litigation front he works on matters across Courts in India pertaining to property law, contract law, media law, mining laws, injunctions, arbitrations, recovery suits, letter of credits, specific performance etc. Additionally, he has also handled matters at the Company Law Board and Company Bench at various High Courts relating to change in registered office, reduction of capital, schemes of arrangements including mergers and de-mergers etc. He has also co-authored chapters on Anti corruption laws in India with our litigation partner Ms. Pallavi Shroff.

Additionally, Nishant also has the unique experience of acting as the Lead Counsel for Motorola India Pvt. Ltd. for 18 months on secondment. During his stint he has been instrumental at taking care of entire legal operations (inter alia including telecom transactions, government and private tenders, litigations and arbitrations, labour matters, consumer matters, other commercial and contractual matters) of the multinational for the Indian subcontinent. He was reporting to the APAC regional lead during this stint.
